  • Glenwood Redbacks 2022 Season Registration Information

Important Information Registrations for the 2022 Season will open on the 10th of January. This season, we will be using DRIBL as a registration portal, instead of PlayFootball. If you were involved in the association last year, this is the platform that was used for competition management (Match Sheets, Fixtures, Results, Tables). Everyone will be required to create a registration account in order to register – this is different to the account that coaches and managers had last year. Follow this link to set up your account: https://registration.dribl.com/sign-up/16 DRIBL have provided a document that provides step-by-step instructions for the registration process. You can access it HERE. Rebates for Returning Players In recognition of the Covid-19 impacted season, players who were registered in NSW to a BDSFA club in 2021 will receive rebates on their 2022 registration fees. These are outlined in the table below. Glenwood Redbacks will also be offering a rebate of 50% of referee fees that were paid as part of the 2021 registration fee. This is outlined in the table below. All rebates should automatically trigger and apply as part of the registration process. *See note below re U6 and U7 fees Reduced Fees for U5, U6 and U7 To encourage more young players to take up the game, registration fees for Under 5, Under 6 and Under 7 players have been dropped for 2022. U21 Men will play on a Friday night alongside the O30 Women and the O35 Men, while the U17 Boys will play on a Saturday afternoon. The shift to an U21 Men is also reflected in the Premier League which now fields an U21, Reserve Grade and First Grade. For those over 17 who do not wish to play on a Friday night, the All Age Men competition is played on a Sunday and is open to anyone 16 and older. There are no changes to the Female Competition Age Groups in 2022. Active Kids Voucher Make sure you visit ServiceNSW BEFORE starting your registration to claim the $100 voucher. • RETURN TO TRAINING: Monday June 1st 2020

We realise over this 11 week period it has been extremely difficult and we have all faced many challenges of many different levels.  The Glenwood Redbacks Committee wish to personally thank you all for your ongoing patience and support.  In the coming period, we will require a higher level of determination and resilience from all of you in assisting the management and implementation of BDSFA guidelines for a return to training.  These guidelines are based upon the frameworks of the Australian Institute of Sport, the Chief Medical Officer of Australia as well as the Chief Medical Officers of all states and territories, and meet the requirement of the NSW Public Health Order. We are promoting the following actions and practices as our mandate throughout this period of  'Get in, train, and get out'. We have linked for your information, the following (Please ensure you take the time to read and understand the required level of compliance that is expected without exception): Information for players and teams Information for coaches Return to training guidelines: Football NSW and BDSFA Training Schedule It is essential throughout this period that we all work together as we are in unchartered waters but we have a mandate to provide the safest possible environment to all our members and we need your assistance at all times to be vigilant and proactive as we move forward.  Some simple outtakes which are mandatory are the following: All players must use hand sanitiser upon entry and exiting training areas (this will be supplied) All players must have their names recorded upon entry to  training areas (attendance record will be at the field) No spitting whatsoever on or off the field All players must bring a drink bottle. (Labelled clearly) Turn up to training in your gear Leave the training fields directly after training All parents (who are not officials) must stay in their cars. Blacktown Council have advised us that toilets will only be open for emergencies. All training is non contact, no hi fives, no physical contact, no huddle, avoid touching the football with your hands If you display any symptoms of the flu that include the following, you are not to attend training, you will be sent home: Fever Cough Sore through Fatigue Shortness of breath We envisage these restrictions to be in place for a number of weeks moving forward but are subject to change at short notice and will continually provide updates as information becomes available.  If in the event you find that the limitations and the restrictions surrounding training are impacting on yourself or your child’s ability to manage, could we please ask that you reach out as early as possible through your manager or coach so that we can provide every available assistance to minimise the impact through this transitional period. On a personal note, we would like to acknowledge the work of the coaches and managers across the board over this extreme period and I am sure I speak on behalf of the Glenwood Redbacks that we are grateful to have had such dedicated people within our organisation to carry us through this period. We look forward to life returning to some normality over the coming period and most importantly, we are dedicated to providing a safe environment and the wellbeing for all our players & volunteers. Please stay safe.

Currently all football activity is suspended until April 14th. Information about BDSFA's plan of management for the 2020 season can be found below, and we ask that you click the links and read the two announcements carefully to understand how your 2020 season may pan out: BDSFA PLAN OF MANAGEMENT 2020 SEASON SUSPENDED ACTIVITY NOTICE While there is to be no football activity, including training, until at least April 14th, administration of the season will continue on schedule. This means if you have been asked to provide updated photos or pay outstanding registration payments, this must be done by Sunday 22nd of March, as finalisation of registrations and allocation of teams on iCompman must be completed by 9am Monday 24th of March. What happens if someone contracts COVID-19? Parents should in the first instance advise their Club Secretary of the person that has contracted COVID-19. Clubs are to fill in the BDSFA supplied jot form. The protocols as provided by Health NSW are to be followed. In short: If any players, officials, team officials, committee members or other participants have: a) returned from overseas OR b) been in close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19, they must i. self isolate themselves for 14 days from the day they departed the relevant country; ii. self isolate themselves for 14 days after the date of last contact with the confirmed case; and iii. monitor themselves for symptoms c) Any confirmed case of COVID-19 will be excluded from training or playing Football until they are medically cleared to return. d) Close contacts of a confirmed case of COVID-19 will be excluded from training or playing Football for 14 days since last contact with the confirmed case (close contacts of a person with a confirmed infection are generally people staying in the same house or sharing a closed space for a prolonged length of time). e) Persons who have returned to Australia and have shown no symptoms during the 14-day self-isolation period are able to return to training and playing Football Consequences for failing to follow suspended activity notice: "Pursuant to the Football Federation Australia decision no organised training sessions are to take place until Wednesday, 15 April. If the BDSFA is advised that clubs or coaches have organised training sessions and there is enough creditable evidence provided to the BDSFA then the BDSFA will report the issue to NSW Health and the NSW Police."

  • COVID-19 Update 18th March 2020

Hi everyone, The COVID-19 outbreak has clearly affected us all. That said, and as I am sure you would all agree and appreciate, we all play our part in minimising its spread so as to bring it under control as soon as practically possible. Parallel to all government and community announcements about ‘social distancing’, good hygiene practices, football and indeed all sport has a role to play amongst our members and all involved in the game. To this end, late yesterday our National Governing Body, Football Federation Australia (FFA) has released an updated Circular (Circular No 20-06), suspending all community football activities (i.e. below A-League and W-League), effective from 12:00am on 18 March 2020, all sanctioned grassroots football activity in Australia will be suspended until 14 April 2020. For your information, I have attached a copy of Circular No 20-06 and this will be used by FFA on all of its social media platforms. What does this mean for the Glenwood Redbacks: Effective immediately, all games, training and other football activities must cease; No competitions/leagues will commence at this stage, and any that have already started, will be suspended until 14 April 2020. As you would appreciate, we are working with BDSFA, our state governing body, Football NSW, who is in turn constantly liaising with FFA and relevant government agencies, and everyone is committed to keeping you informed and up to date in these rapidly changing times.
